I picked this article because the human eye and the way in which we see color fascinates me greatly. In the lecture, when I got to the section on color blindness I was particularly interested because my father and one of his two siblings are both red-green colorblind along with their mother. The common test for color blindness that contains a number within a circle of dots of a different color appeared in the lecture. When I was younger I used to do that test all the time with my dad because I could not understand why he couldn’t see the number in the center of the image that I could see clear as day. I now have a greater understanding that red-green color blindness allows one to see different colors however they are unable to distinguish between them. While I was reading the article on color and psychological functioning, I was curious about how individuals who are red-green colorblind view the color red and whether or not it affects them in the same way. For example, the way in which it brings most people fear from memories of teachers using red to mark mistakes and things that were done incorrectly. I would love to learn more about this and communicate with my dad about how he sees specific colors now that I know some more about what red-green color blindness really
