While I was drawn to the high acuity adrenaline-inducing cases, it was the diversity of undifferentiated patients that solidified my decision to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine (EM). The combination of hands-on procedures and diagnostic challenges not only provides immediate gratification but fuels my unremitting curiosity. Furthermore, the unique opportunity to care for patients of varying age, health, and socio-economic status in possibly the most distressing moments of their lives is a highly fulfilling privilege. Finally, the stressful ED environment allows me to capitalize on what I believe to be my greatest strength, the ability to connect and build trusting relationships with people.
