Diseases, treatments, and cures such as different types of cancers, screenings, radiation, and chemotherapy were expressed in both. The book provided extensive background knowledge of these topics that we were only able to go through the basics of in class. Along with background, the book was able to gave many personal experience examples of each. The book used quite a few words that I was not able to understand, but with the background we already had from patho it made it much easier to figure out what the book was …show more content…
After reading this book, I really began to see that people are out there dedicated their lives to finding cancer and not just in the cancer world for the economy it brings in. It was very interesting to be able to see the progression in how those in 400 BC saw cancer to how we see it today. I strongly recommend this book to all health care providers of the oncology team and especially those who are still in the battle of finding treatments. Mukherjee allows readers to not only picture what he felt, but feel the shiver he felt throughout his experiences, as well. This book will provide a fascinating ride of the history and coming of cancer and bring hope and clarity to all people seeking to treat, prevent, or cure
