The Sun is the source of our energy and first stores energy in plants to start out the cycle of energy. In the bottom of my pyramid I show a large amount of grass or in other words plant life. Plants are producers and take energy from the sun so that other living things above it on the Energy …show more content…
These Carnivores have a smaller population compared to plants and insects because if there population was larger they would consume the insects and plants before they have time to reproduce, this is an example of why some animals go extinct. Because our human population is so large it is our job to make sure the Energy cycle is able to continue. Antilopes have the same job as humans and that is to make sure energy is being transferred and waste is being produced for nutrients for plants. If waste and decay does not happen plants will rot from the sun and will not grow which will cause extinction. Now you have seen how important every animal is to our …show more content…
The reason I wanted to show the lion is because the Lion is known as the king of the jungle because it is able to kill everything below it on the Energy Pyramid. Lions have the smallest population on the Pyramid because they die when they are not able to catch enough food as shown in the lesson I presented before this. Lions need a certain amount of food to survive and produce and since there lifespan is longer and it takes more effort to catch food they reproduce at a slower past. All levels of this pyramid are very important to the survival of life and the transfer of energy through the
