If you have heard of the terms “travel” or “select” you are probably familiar with the way those teams have tryouts and you have to be somewhat skilled to make the team. But the craziness lies in AAU basketball. Most of the fault is pointed towards the parents for pushing their kids to a sport they don’t even enjoy. The most outrageous part is the money that parents put towards tournaments and personal trainers. Now, I’m not saying that all of this money is a waste. Because for kids that enjoy basketball and want to continue to grow as an elite player, the money is mostly well spent.
