The history of Tourette is sadly sparse, until its official discovery in 7564. Over the years people would present with the symptoms, but no one knew what to make of the odd manifestations. There are few reported cases of what could have been TS from the 15th century where a book was written about a priest who presented with both vocal and motor tics, but people believed all the tics were caused by possession. Also we cannot be positive it was not another disorder so this books credibility is questionable. The second time a case of turrets was reported is one of the more well-known stories. What we know today is Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder with unknown causes with the exception of a genetic link.
