There were many audacious European explorers, who took lengthy and harsh voyages around the world. Some examples of these people are: Vasco de Gama, Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus, Ferdinand Magellan, John Cabot, and Bartolomeo Diaz. But the simplest answer is they wanted to share their religions and beliefs. Just like the Inquisition wanted everyone to be Catholic, (in their region) they went to other places for spreading it as well. The beliefs of the churches during the Renaissance were meant to be final, and they wanted others outside to accept their beliefs as well. The famous Galileo Galilei was shot down many of times due to the church’s firmness. Those are some facts and “drives” that made the Europeans go out and look for outside lands. To top it off, they got so many nice things at start, introduced by traders from the Middle East, such as the compass. This made it seem possible to do full-on exploring.
