The debates over the proper form of family life ever since the rise of women’s movement and the civil right revolution of 1960 are also an offended in my personal point of view. While reading the information provided in those sources I compared my family with the “American” family standard definition and I realized that people from different cultures need to rethink their assumptions and consider a better way to describe family by taking in consideration life’s issues through the point of view of people that comes from different backgrounds from their own. Based on American family standard definition I never had a family or my family was simply distorted because I am part of minorities. Before making any kind of assumptions people need to posses the ability to understand diverse perceptive. Unfortunately, we live in a country where only certain kind of people is entitle to debate, argue, make decision and changes whenever and however they please without taking in consideration other’s backgrounds or life’s situation. As I previously stated based on the American standard definition of family I never had one or mine was simply distorted for the following reasons: First, I come from a family were females headed families with or without husband. My great grandmother was widow ad had six children; she was a business owner and never depended on government assistance because there was not any. My grand mother continued the business, married, had eight children, six females and two males. In my family the female were instructed in handling business and obtaining more costumers, males were in charge of the bakery production production. The males produced the breads, cakes, and pastries. My mother had her first bakery at the age of 20 after she married my father. My parent’s marriage did not last long and they got divorce four years after. My family structure changed from what is consider ideal to a single family structure because I was
