One of them is Frederick Taylor, known as the father of scientific management, created the 4 Principles of Scientific Management in order to improve the output by training and specializing employees into different areas and tasks so that they could be more efficient as they work together. Other 2 important contributors to management are Frank and Lillian Gilbreth. They created the motion studies in which different tasks were separated into motions and the ones that are unnecessary or too repetitive were eliminated, with the aim to increase productivity, reduce the effort to perform a task and finally simplify work (Williams, Principles of Management). Moreover, Lillian Gilbreth developed her PhD in Industrial psychology in order to improve the working conditions which benefited the relations between employees and managers in terms of communication, job satisfaction, training and use of incentives. With the aim of establishing a task structure, Henry Gantt created the Gantt chart.
