The University of Michigan is one of the top ranking public universities. The campus is very large and has many valuable resources designed for its students to be successful. For example the Shapiro Library (UGLI) and the Hatcher Library have many different types of study spaces. On the first floor of the Shapiro Library there is a large study area which is not too quiet or too loud and on the second there are smaller study rooms ideal for small groups or individuals. On the second floor of the Hatcher Library there is the Reference Reading Room which is well lit and very quiet, making it ideal for reading or studying. Another place that I have found useful is the Fishbowl which is located in Angel Hall. The Fishbowl has many computers, printers, and small work spaces available for students to take advantage of. Similar to Neuroscience, Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience (BCN) is an interdisciplinary major that incorporates concepts of Psychology and Neuroscience. It broadly focuses on these disciplines and why individuals behave and respond the way they do. In addition to majoring in Neuroscience or Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience (BCN), I am also interested in double-majoring or minoring in Spanish. Although I speak Spanish fluently, I would like to use this as an opportunity to practice and expand my vocabulary. Also, I want my Spanish skills, speaking and writing, to be at the same skill level of my English skills because up until now I have mainly focused on improving my English.
