If I were to come in on a Monday or Thursday morning, I would be waiting for the truck to show up. Upon its arrival, I would grab a pallet jack, and open up the door on the dock so I may enter into the semi trailer. Once inside, I find one of the first full grocery pallets, pull it out and set it off to the side and out of the way until the rest of the truck can be unloaded. Once unloaded the truck may be reloaded with our empty pallets from the last truck. I head back into the truck with an empty pallet jack and I grab one of the blue tubs, which contains our ice cream, and needs to be kept cold and put away as fast as possible. This item would then need to be placed into the system and have a sign made for it. This is a process that I had learned this previous summer. With the new item in hand, I make my way up into the office and sit down in front of the computer. Turning the item over to find it’s PLU, I begin to type into the computer the ten-digit number that specifically defines this one individual item. Once the number is in the system, I must describe the item, consisting of the item name, what department it falls under, weight, and price. Now that the item is in the system, I can then proceed to make a tag for it. This process being much quicker, consists of entering the item’s PLU, picking the size of sign that I desire, and lastly hitting print and waiting for the printer to spit it out. Now, with the new item in the system and a sign in hand, I head to its designated isle, and begin to move other items to the side so that there is enough room on the shelf to squeeze this new item
