“Then she’ll die—and in her death kill someone else.” (859) Creon thinks when Haemon says this that he is talking about him but really Haemon is saying he will die if his soon to be wife dies. “Go bring her out- that hateful creature, so she can die right here, with him present, before her bridegroom’s eyes.” (868-870) Creon thought Haemon was threatening him but he was actually telling him he would commit suicide if she died. So haemon got upset that his father would even utter those words. He stormed out of the room and left his father to his evil ways.
What was discussed in this essay was, Haemon tired to show his father he was wrong about his decision about Antigone. Then, Haemon is trying to tell his father how he is acting ignorant. Finally, Haemon’s father is being selfish and is angered by his words. Haemon was trying to contrast with his father Creon. Haemon ended up not being able to convince his father and his father was brought disaster that he caused. “For me your judgements and the ways you act on them are good- I shall follow them.”
