In the movie “Max”, directed and written by Menno Meyjes, Adolf Hitler points out, “All I have in this world is the conviction that I am an artist and master builder and you just stole from that, from the one thing that’s mine, a rich boy like you.”(Max) With these words, Max made him feel emotional and he was feeling worthless in this world. When Hitler says he has nothing but art he just doesn 't care much for anything or anybody. That is why when Max Rothman saw Hitler’s art there was no passion into it, it was just plain art. Rothman wanted more passion towards Hitler’s art so it could be worth more. Like what Rothman highlights in the movie, “I don 't want to just see the art, I want to feel it.”(Max) When Hitler was living in that state of mind, it made him feel to want more and wanted a purpose in his life. According to the movie, Hitler proclaimed, “When I came back from this war, I came back to nothing, really nothing, no home, no parents, no family, no fiancee, no profession, no job, no food, no closet full of hockey sticks and tennis rackets, not even a dress shirt.”(Hitler) In other words, Hitler didn’t have anything except himself and his art. Hitler was jealous of Rothman because he had everything, a house, a family, a woman, a job etc. Hitler was also jealous of the Jewish people because he mentioned that they were the better race than the Germans. He also declared that the Jewish people were brilliant and that they were wise. In the movie, Max, Hitler exhibits, “On the contrary I admire the Jews.”(Hitler) and “they’re very intelligent people.”(Hitler) With these words, most of us readily agree that the tone he used was jealous and envious.
