J.R.R. Tolkien was a Writer, a very famous one. Wrote numerous books of Different Genres. He liked Fantasy The most. He lived 81 years 1892-1973. You may know because he wrote the book, the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
Childhood
Born on January 3 in 1892 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. He Believed his last names Origin was german along with his family. His mother Mabel Suffield, and his dad Arthur Reuel Tolkien Married in 1880 in. On the 15th of February 1886 when Tolkien was 4 his dad died. He moved from place to place in England and went to king edward's school.
His Religion was Committed Roman Catholicism and His priest was half Spanish and Welsh.

He Earned his first class degree in 1915 which specialized him in Anglo Saxon and Germanic languages.
He Married Edith bratt in on March 22, 1916 in Warwick. IN the same year He went to the army And trained In Staffordshire And fought in world 1 in Somme france In July. But he did not touch World war 2
In the war he got trench fever. Infection caused by unsanitary conditions. He eventually Healed from the infection. And all but one of his friends died that were on the T.C.B.S. in the war.
His Illness didn’t go away, but came back a few times through 1917 And 1918.
After the war he set out to be an Associate Professor at University of Deeds. He did not think He would make the job.
At deeds University He joined a club that was Lead by E.V. Gordan.
