Summary of Who, Where, and Why during Hostage Negotiation-1
When dealing with hostage negotiation why these three words are are so important and vital. I will try and show you the reason and importance of these words in reference to hostage when they are held captive. When face with a hostage crisis or situation I believe of the three why is the upmost important of them all. “Where in relationship to the hostage crisis consist of the place it being committed or the location of the hostage that is being held. By knowing the where about of the victim it is easier for the negotiator to try and communicate. Another example of where can occur in your own home in which happen to a couple in Maryland in 1979 when the perpetrator Joseph Palczynski entered their establishment and them captive. In this ordeal the perpetrator did survive. There is also good chance that it can also happen on aboard a cruise ship as it was demonstrated aboard an Achilles Lauro cruise ship on October 7, 1985 while in Egyptian waters. So as we can see it does matter to a hostage taker, either on land, air, or the sea it can happen when you least expect too.
The final one of the three can also be of some importance when it comes to hostage negotiation. The “who” can be referred to a person? It can fall into several categories such as the following mentally ill, psychopathic personality disordered, extremists, or criminals. Of the four in this category I would consider the most dangerous one to be mentally ill due to all the different moods changes they will
