Fashion in Ancient Greece was very simple and practical but it had a great influence on fashion today. A simple fabric was worn in multiple different ways for different occasions. A typical outfit in Ancient Greece was a large rectangle of fabric such as wool, linen, and even silk for the royal and the wealthy. The fabric was draped around one's body and secured at the shoulder with pins or brooches. This was called a tunic and it varied in length and style depending on a person’s job or gender. Fabric for clothes was usually spun inside the home using some sort of wool or importanted linens. Accessories in Ancient Greece included sandals, belts, necklaces, and more. One of the most influential civilizations in regards to modern-day fashion is Greece.
