The basis of this experiment was to test and examine how different contaminants affect ground water. The experiment had interesting results whereby when I filtered vinegar through a media containing dirt resulting material as clean. I report that it surprised me since I did not expect that any of the contaminants used in the experiment would affect water equally the same way it affected vinegar. I had to think critically that the water probably have dirt that has been mixed with the ones that was filtered. From the experiment, I can actually say that we can devise ways to purify our water in a safe manner after we have filtered. The experiment shows we have to potential to find and formulate a safer choice on how we filter and purify …show more content…
Contaminants range from that can be human waste, chemicals utilized as a part of cultivating and modern industrial facilities to the detergents used in washing clothes and cooking oil that you use at home. We are going to asking how and for what reason this influences us when we drink water from the spigot. Lead is one of the common contaminants found in water. Research has demonstrated that lead can prompt delays in development in children and can bring about tumor in grown-ups. As indicated by Bruce Lanphear a pediatric disease transmission expert, lead in water is an undervalued service of intake of lead (Renner, 2009). It is approximated that 10-20% of kids are presented to lead through the drinking water as indicated by the Centers for Disease Control and …show more content…
These are the contaminants that individuals do not believe is in their drinking water. Portions of the medications that have been found are antidepressants, cardiac drugs and steroids to give some examples. While there have been almost no studies done to show what the adverse reactions this will have on the human wellbeing there is a few contentions that long haul introduction to the low measurements of these medications will affect our wellbeing. The chemicals are likewise influencing the natural life like fish. One impact that has been noted is that fish are turning out to be more female like in view of the hormonal medications found in the water (Berg, 2008).
While steps have been taken by the administration to convey models to water treatment and wastewater treatment plants a portion of the contaminants saturate the water supply after it has been sifted. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued guidelines for drinking water with strategies like the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974, yet the principles are not tamper proof and a few regions are not in consistence with the recommended standards. Another issue is the expense of setting up better filtration frameworks to catch a portion of the contaminants that are not being separated
