Galaxies, they are what holds our solar system and many, many more. We may not be alone because there is tons of galaxies out in this universe. Our galaxy, the milky way contains nebulas, clusters, black holes and maybe even other life. Our galaxy is what they call a spiral galaxy, there is a black hole that is pulling us around. …show more content…
There are two theories of how galaxies are formed. One of the theories on how galaxies are formed is by dust and gas collapsing in on itself and creating stars and making many more stars and lead near a black hole and circling around it forming the galaxies we know. The second theory is when the universe was young, it contained a lot of little lumps of matter that conjoined together to make galaxies.
What does a galaxy consist of? Galaxies consist of stars, dust, gas, dark matter & dark energy. The gasses found in galaxies are usually hydrogen and helium. What is the dark matter and energy found in galaxies and the universe? We don't know what neither of the two actually are, only that they are crucial to the universe. Around 68% of the universe is dark energy, 27% is dark matter and the remaining 5% is the matter that makes everything known on our earth.
What happens inside a galaxy? Astronomers are not entirely sure what happens inside the whole galaxy but what has been found is super novas, formation of planets, flares, birthing stars. Supernovae are stars which reach the end of their life span, two things can occur in a supernova, the core can accumulate too much matter causing the explosion, the second reasoning is that the core runs out of nuclear fuel and starts sucking in its own mass, it then cannot withstand its own gravitational pull causing the explosion. Flares are a sudden but brief burst of bright flame or light. Flares are usually formed by a sun or bright star realising waves of energy creating the
