The McKenzie therapy technique that he uses is just a hands on physical therapy for people with pain. He has done some regular physical therapy along with a little bit of dry needling, which is similar to acupuncture. When I am there he will have me lay on a table and he will do some motility pressures on my neck with his thumbs, this relieves some of the pain I feel. He will also do some cracking to the areas of my back and neck to relieve some of the pressure pain. Sometimes, the positions that he has me in are difficult, but I do not mind because almost instantly, after he cracks it, I can feel a release of pressure. The dry needling technique that the physical therapist uses is just a few needles in the upper part of my neck and lower parts of my skull. I did not know how I would like it or if it would hurt, but I barely noticed him tapping them into my skin. While I was laying there, with the needles in my neck, I was not sure what I should expect or if it was something I had to wait for to feel the results, but when I was finished he explained to me that it may take a few times before I notice a difference. My neck was a little tender the next day, where the needles were placed, but it was not excruciating. I have had respectable results with using these techniques. My pain neck is not as frequent and my headaches seem to be improving as the weeks’
