Without breaking important social norms, where else can one openly watch humanity’s live unapologetic hurting, crying, screaming, laughing, and loving? Why, nowhere but the theater! For this reason, the theater is a one of the best creative destinations for entertainment. It is a safe space that allows audiences to observe what otherwise would not be possible, and this opportunity to witness carries immense potential for social change. This is why things like political theater exists. The theater’s responsibility is to dare audiences with ideas that may be uncomfortable and, in turn, expand minds. This potential for growth must be available for all. Unfortunately, this is not the case as theater today is oftentimes viewed as a luxury and not a right. This is a mindset that must be challenged. Expensive theater prices may seem like a necessity in order for productions to be produced, however high prices can make it exclusive.
