In today’s globally matured business world, careers are being seen as an important factor which leads a business or individual’s success. According to BusinessDictionary.com, career defined as “The progress and actions taken by a person throughout a lifetime, especially those related to that person's occupations. A career is often composed of the jobs held, titles earned and work accomplished over a long period of time, rather than just referring to one position. Participating in the Career Management Process is of value for several important reasons. Engaging in the Career Management process would assist the employee in identifying jobs and career paths which would utilise their potential and allow them to meet their personal goals. As a result, the employee to be more motivated and therefore more productive in their chosen career field, which will lead to greater personal and career success. Engaging in the Career Management process will assist the employee in developing their Career Management skills. Career Management skills include understanding own strengths and weaknesses, their needs and wants, and their interests, capabilities, and aspirations, and linking these together with current potential career opportunities which a particular degree will prepare for the employee. Engaging in the Career Management Process will provide them with the opportunity to access good-quality career information on training opportunities, on occupations and their characteristics, and on labor market supply and demand. It will also allow them to gather information on the occupational implications of educational decisions, and on the learning pathways that lead to particular occupational destinations. Engaging in the Career Management process will provide the opportunity to confirm and decide upon an educational and career goal in a well informed and well thought through way. Engaging in the Career Management process will provide an employee with personal support in the form of advice and guidance from a manager or guiding mentor. Mentor will help finding the needed information, assist the employee in understanding this information and relating it to their personal needs and circumstances, and then helping them to convert this information into personal career action
