Diversity and self-pride should be celebrated in all classroom not just ELL classrooms. Children should feel comfortable expressing their uniqueness and the things that make them special. I think it is important to make the classroom a second home for children. To support the ELL students i will implement the everyone 's culture and language in the classroom. Displaying words and pictures that reflect the diversity of the classroom is a way to make the children feel welcomed. The change in the face of America is why it is important for teachers and administrators to continually learn about new ways to interact and to teacher English language learners. Becoming culturally responsive teachers is especially important and we must be aware of our own biased towards things that are different from our normal. It is important that all teachers step out of their comfort zone to learn and interact with people who don’t look, believe or follow the same ideas as us.
After speaking to the interviewee i realized there are things that we all can miss when we look only through our eyes. If we only see things from our outlook we miss valuable lesson and a beautiful view. Perception is everything we must take the time to see things from the eyes of our parents, students, and community so we can adapt our thinking to help the people we vowed to help. It is important to remember who we are as educators and that we can make or break an experience for a child. We as educators should want to see all children progress and learn at their academic
