Introduction Spiritual care is an inevitable part of holistic care. Nurses are expected to provide holistic care as per the standards and guidelines given by professional code of ethics. Accrediting agencies mandates inclusion of spiritual care as a part of quality care to patients. Chronic illness can impose long term suffering and stress for patients. Patients with stroke usually experiences grief, anxiety, fear and low self esteem. The long term functional disability adds to feeling of hopelessness and helplessness.
