The importance of the data can be overlooked by the researcher, due to their concert of being able to generalize a wide range of a given event. The survey method is based on a general view of a given study, which results in a small list of possible questions to be asked for the participants and limited answers that will be received from them. Because of this, the data that they will gather will lack depth and detail. This will also prevent the researchers the possibility of solving more problems and discovering new theories. Even though the researchers receive a huge amount of respondents on their survey, there will be overwhelming and difficult to organize (Brown, Clark, Kelley,& Sitzia, …show more content…
The use of a structured interview should have a detailed schedule and the questions must be asked in a specific order. This will prevent the researchers from consuming too much time and will allow them to gather more data. This type of interview will also avoid biases, that will affect the answers of the respondents. The answers that will be gathered using the structured interview, will be used as proof of the researcher’s hypothesis. The researchers can easily provide the questions to be answered by the interviewee , because they already have a general idea of the research. They only need the answers of the interviewee to further solidify their claim. At the same, the research might need to add a structured open-response interview. In this type of interview, the question are also in a specific order. But most of the questions are flexible, and the researchers are more likely to receive spontaneous and detailed answers (King,
