Macbeth is a play about a man that lives in Scotland named Macbeth, who is an honorable man and warrior and is also the thane of Glamis. He starts the play by winning a battle for King Duncan, his ruler, who he is extremely loyal to. After winning this battle, he is promoted to Thane of Cawdor. After this he is told a prophecy by three witches, which states that he would become Thane of Glamis, to Thane of Cawdor, and lastly the King of Scotland. This leads to a very complex and destructive power struggle by Macbeth.
