Reading is such a major part of my life; from the time I could comprehend the written word, I had always turned towards book. Growing up, I had at most 2 friends, no more. It didn’t interest me what the ‘new trend’ was or what was considered to be popular. School didn’t matter to me, my books and family were the only thing that I had a connection with. Books are my escape; my getaway from life, and my family taught me many life lessons. My group of friends helped me out of my ‘shell’. Granted I made good grades, but I knew there was always room for improvement. Looking back now, I wish I had cared, and put the effort to make great grades. Infinity ECHS has a major impact on my life, and I have learned many things; time management, career opportunities, and, last but not least, Infinity has shown me that you can have work, but still have fun. The first semester of Infinity I solely focused on schoolwork. I was afraid of receiving bad grades or getting overwhelmed by the homework. History and English were my undoing, I struggled to memorize people with dates or stay on topic in an essay. Math, Science, and Spanish were my strong suit therefore I didn’t study as much for those subjects, and even so, I had maintained an A average throughout the year; Speck’s advisory had kept the shield all year long.
