I was trying to improve my patient condition by regulating her blood sugar level to reduce the risk of developing complications.
After the assist of my tutor to give good health education, Ms.S.K.’s start asking me questions about the complications. I felt happy because she interacts with me. She looks very interested to know more and takes actions to control her blood sugar. On another hand, the family takes a big role to reduce the level of the blood sugar. The most important thing is having a good dietary habit and providing her with the support which can help her to walk.

The goal of nutritional management for diabetes mellitus type 2 is to maintain a normal blood glucose levels, blood pressure, and weight to avoid the complications of kidney and cardiovascular disease. In addition, having a severe carbohydrate and calorie can effect on type 2 diabetes management (Kramer and Chang, 2013). The diet plan designed originally to lower the blood pressure. It also proved its effectiveness in weight loss, decreasing cholesterol level, and managing or preventing diabetes. In DASH diet, patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 and kidney disease advised eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, poultry, low-fat, and whole grains.
