VII. Criticism of SWAT Teams
One of the tactical movement that SWAT team conducts is a raid, it forms in a file line which relate to like a snake. This reduces the number of team associates that can be a widespread target to a suspect. However it will be tough on the danger of the officer in the front of the line. The officer in the front is the point man. The point man is the hardest position, because he is the one that enter the room of unknown suspects. It gets to a point where the point man have to make a quick decision upon entering the room. This is the type of scenario that will be running through the point man mind; is the suspect going to rush at me with a weapon, is the suspect carrying a firearm, or is the suspect holding a hostage. This is when the job of a SWAT become also effective with a life or death situation in a matter of seconds. …show more content…

My experience with SWAT started last year from July to August. I spent a month with the Army 289th Military Police (Special Reaction Team) Company out of Washington D.C.
