Taylor enjoys a lot of noise in her territory at all times. She always has music on or the television on, and she always has her friends on the computer, live, chatting with her at all times. When I try to communicate with her she doesn’t want to turn down the music or the outside noise, during our communication, and she doesn’t want to disconnect with her friends, rather she wants to “mute” them instead. My mother, Christy, enjoys the house colder than I do. It can be distracting to talk to someone when you are struggling to stay warm and searching for blankets. Also, my mother and I do want to communicate, I often get home from work and school at a late hour, after she has gone to bed. Exhaustion plays a part in our ability to communicate at that point, she is unable to communicate with me all the in’s and out’s of her day because she is unable to fully wake up and I do not have the heart to keep her make her stay awake any longer. I do however believe there are some things that we can do as a family to improve our
