Although I did not realize it at the time, from that simple beginning, the sport of baseball would not only become an important activity in my life, but also serve as a vehicle that would forge many of the core values I hold true: patience, perseverance and determination. As a member of several baseball teams from Little League to high school varsity, I learned the importance of these values as they apply not only to the personal interactions on a baseball team, but life in general. Intra-personal experiences have always been important to me for my personal growth. Baseball was just one avenue that gave me a greater understanding of myself and an appreciation of the character needed to assume the role of a leader or team player. The irony being, this is not just limited to baseball; but is also valid as a member of a family, school, community, or business.
