For the longest of time, scientists, therapists and doctors all wondered whether or not psychology is a science. Simply put, there is not a direct answer, but there are many theories supporting both directions. However, in this paper I am going to assess how psychology is a science due to the literal side of the argument through the definition of the matter, the make of psychology, and the similarities between psychology and science. Now the medication may be used to balance the emotions and chemicals in our brains that tend to knock us off our feet sometimes in a cognitive, emotional, and physical kind of way. What part of that does not sound like science? If I were to go into a cardiologist telling them I have pain in my chest, they might diagnose me with a heart murmur and then try and fix the issue through labs, experiments, and tests. Going to a psychologist is the same way; however, it is just handling a different part of the body, the mind and soul.
In conclusion, psychologists do the same exact thing as a doctor or a botanist would do; however, we do not hear biology, chemistry, or botany being questioned on whether or not it is a real science. I declare, that one of the main reasons people even consider psychology not being a science would be the amount of women opposed to men in the field, but even then, that is not recorded evidence.
