When interviewed, it was made clear that he had no idea of the settlement of that day. Whatever the case, when the shooter came, he was willing to sacrifice his life for the best outcome. In doing so, the attacker fled away. From this chance, he presents the trait of being willing.
Furthermore, from what is shown, he is an opportunist, someone who takes every chance they see in order to gain. During the shooting, he saw an opportunity to fight back. Enabled to do so, he counteracted the aggressor, not putting down the fight. In his favor, he was able to preoccupy the assault, winning the wage and fleeing the hit. Being this way, he performs the quality of a hero.
Leading into the final characteristic, being a fast thinker even while under pressure. James Show had to do what others did not whilst under the impression of life or death. His first action was to run into the bathroom to hide, however, there was no way to be safe in there as the doors could not be locked. To this, he started to act upon what he thought was best, wait for the gunshots to be reloaded and then move out to pusher the pursuer out in a fight.
