Critics of Jazz Music The Jazz musical event I attended was performed at Green Mill Cocktail Lounge by pianist Patricia Barber, drummer Jon Deitemyer, and bassist Patrick Mulcahy. This jazz club has been one of Chicago’s most historic, and popular jazz clubs for a long time now. It has a quiet, and peaceful environment which is one of the reasons that helps you to fully enjoy the Jazz music that is being performed. This is the first time I have attended a live Jazz musical show ever in my life, and honestly can say that it helped me to have a better understanding of Jazz music and to enjoy it more than before. The show had already started when I arrived at the club. When they were slowly coming together to the center from their previous position they were tapping the seats they had with the floor to keep up the rhythm they had in the song which I found it weird at first but later found out that they were using it for that purpose. They came to the center without breaking the rhythm they had and even occasionally transform their instrument to produce the sound of guitar and piano. The thing I noticed during the performance was that the musicians were trying to voice out the sounds of nature by their music. Some of the sounds I listened were the sound of waterfall, wind, and a mixed sound of an airplane, and a fly. They even sometimes used the unusable parts of their instrument to produce naturally occurring sounds. Overall what I understood from the musical show was that the musicians were trying to produce a distinct and rare naturally occurring voice using their instrument while maintaining the
