Wonwoo's mummy always tells him that she loves him before he goes to bed. As a young child, he always ponders on the conception of love.
Jeon Wonwoo is five when he meets Kim Mingyu on a relatively windy day at the local park. Wonwoo is standing almost two meters away from the Baskin Robbin's ice cream truck that resides near the entrance of the park and the annoying jingle that plays constantly, drones in his ears. He puts on his best angry face - and glares at the worker as he scoops up for two Rainbow Sherbet ice cream cones that the tall boy (who looks just about the same age as him) picks out. The tall boy bobs up and down in glee as he holds the two cones in his hands and though the tall boy has his back to Wonwoo, he can't help but scowl at him (because honestly, who needed two ice creams in one sitting?)

It isn't until Wonwoo turns nine years old that he changes his mind about what love means. It's his ninth birthday and he's celebrating it in his backyard (because little Wonwoo isn't very fond of big crowds of unfamiliar people) and so his parents decide to invite only his best friends at school and a few close family friends.
At the age of nine, you would expect a young boy to be quite active - enjoying sports and the outdoors. (Most of his classmates would pipe up at the mention of soccer.) However, young Wonwoo had discovered his fascination for the world of fiction and novels. When Wonwoo had free time, you could find delving into a mystical fantasy novel, or an action-packed story. In fact, since he loved books so much, he ordered that all his birthday presents were only allowed to be books and that he would not accept anything else (His parents had quite the laugh when he had declared that, leaving a pouty Wonwoo.)
