John Quincy Adams is the 6th president of the United States. Adams served from 1825 – 1829 as president and served one term. He was a part of the Democratic - Republican Party, which was basically the opposite of the Federalist Party (which was weird because he was a part of the Federalist Party until 1808). DR opposed the constitution and supported a strong state government and a bill of rights to protect citizens. His vice president was named John Calhoun who later became a vice president to Andrew Jackson in 1829 – 1832. The 5th president (before Adams) was James Monroe (1818 – 1825) and the 6th president (after Adams) was Andrew Jackson (1829 – 1837).

This event was called the Treaty of Limits between the United Mexican states and the United States of America and happened in 1828 between Mexico and the US. It was concluded on January 12, 1828 at Mexico City. Joel Poinsett signed for the US and Sebastián Camacho and Josè Esteva signed for Mexico. The treaty recognized the Mexico-US boundary that had been established by the 1819 Adams-Onís Treaty between Spain and the US (Florida and Mexico). The treaty was ratified by Mexico and the US and went into effect in April of 1828. The treaty was amended twice, once in 1831 and again in 1835. After the Republic of Texas became independent from Mexico, the US and Texas signed an 1828 treaty confirming the boundary from the Treaty of Limits. This led to Mexico regarding it as a violation and ultimately leading to the Mexican-American War. After the war, the Treaty of Guadalupe replaced the Treaty of Limits. In United States v.
