In shakespeare's play macbeth women want control over men. In the tragedy Macbeth lady macbeth's status as one of shakespeare’s most devious and fascinating characters has been recognized in the proliferation of criticism on and adaptive works of macbeth over the past 400 years. Lady Macbeth's relative success is through her associations with demonic forces and the fateful powers of the notorious three witches. Lady Macbeth's portrayal begins with the powerful elements of her ambitious and successful plotting of Duncan’s demise, effective rhetorical manipulation of her husband to be a man and take action. At first Lady Macbeth was mean to macbeth and controlling, but then later on in the play it says “ Her guilt filled sleepwalking scene and later suicide register therefore as bodily signs of her corruption”. Wherever violence takes place in the play, blood is shown on the characters immediately after the crime. When Macbeth gets involved in one of these crimes and kills duncan he quickly regrets what he has done, but standing there with blood on his hands as evidence he knows he cannot take back what he did. Lady macbeth does not see anything wrong with what he has done, and suggest that they put all the blame on the guards, “ the symbol of blood can be used as the image of death”. Macbeth even has the taste of the blood when he says “ i have supped with horrors”. The blood on macbeth's hands becomes and evil image that he cannot erase from his
