This story is about Dmitry Gurov, who is a married man who has an affair with many different women, and does not see an issue with his actions. I believe that after meeting Anna, Gurov changes his perspective on woman. I believe this because in this story, Anna’s personality and expressions towards him are different. “She had the purity of a well-bred, naïve woman who has seen little of life.” (138) I feel as though the author states this in his story to give you a background of how Anna may act in this story.
