During middle adulthood, age is more about how one feels not their chronological age. A common finding is that as adults become older their identity age is younger than their chronological age. During this time period of life, some abilities decline but there are abilities that increase. Crystallized intelligence continues to increase whereas fluid intelligence begins to decrease. Most cognitive abilities begin to decline around during the sixties. During mid adulthood, fluid intelligence begins to decrease because fluid intelligence predominates before midlife. She never had any major surgeries during her life. She passed all her development stages at appropriate ages (she was unsure of this answer because she could not remember exactly when her milestones happened). To her knowledge, she never had an early disease or health difficulty. Her family has not had any major medical issues. Becky wears glasses and can hear sounds from the pitch of my voice and below. She struggled hearing my voice if my pitch went higher than normal. Becky is overweight, I would estimate three hundred to four hundred pounds. She is about five foot two inches. She came to this preference through church influence from church with her friends. Her grandmother was very religious. During the summer during her childhood, she stayed at her aunt’s house and would attend vacation bible school. Her pastor as a teenager was the biggest influence on her spiritual development. Her spirituality impacts her daily life with her morning prayers which lasts 3-4 hours every morning, bible reading which lasts 1-2 hours every morning, and she tries to do something to impact others for Christ in any way possible during the day. Her hobbies include pictures, gardening, and greeting cards. Each hobby serves as a way to give to
