Leading Changes was a great attention grabbing and informative novel. The novel included numerous scenarios that allowed myself the reader to essentially understand the information that was presented to me. The novel elaborates on how to make change happen and …show more content…
The first error that firms make are allowing too much complacency. This is when high urgency is not established, which managers and employees rely on. So that leads to goals and objectives not being taken serious or cutting it close to reaching deadlines due to how the managers or employees value value reaching the final goal. An example is provided with an individual named Adrien from a specialty chemical division. Adrien was a dedicated and self-confident executive. With the people that he worked with in that division that apparently saw his vision however, did not feel that it was very important to make his vision come true. With no cooperation there ended up being a lot of time wasted and in result competitor attacked back with their product. Adrien ended up leaving and moving on to a small firm. In this case it appeared that Adrien had the power to make things happen, but he didn’t use it correctly.
