First learning moments this week was during our very first day of class where we took a field trip down to the river in canoes. We paddled down the river about 2 miles, so we could experience what lies beneath and around the riverbed, immersing ourselves in the environment and strangers at the same time. I Kayak, but I never really take the time to stop and enjoy what the water, and what its surroundings have to offer, I use it as an exercise, not a tool for a forum, but I will in my future endeavors. Incorporating time to learn from my environment and others in the future will be highly considered, because it enhanced the enjoyment of the activity, as well as discussing our observations, learning from one another and building on each …show more content…
I loved this project, because I think it is something that keeps on giving as time moves forward. An extremely interesting, and unique way to express oneself, and think about self-development as an educator. One way to utilize this book is that you could have your own students create their own storybook on themselves the first week of class. The place where you were born, where you live, siblings, likes, dislikes, personality, family members, pets, drawing, pictures, and words, anything that would provide clues about yourself. A very team building exercise for students that are just getting to know one another where they learn about each, and every one of their classmate’s in an open forum. Perfect activity for the first week of school or class. It provides a sense of self, belonging, and builds rapport among students much like all the events and activities we performed during this week of class. In addition, this book could be used as a journal for students to write or draw in once a week on how they are feeling and what changes over time, to be revisited throughout the year to experience the
