When I look back on my childhood, I think of fun filled memories with toys, friends and games, not once ever would I think about fighting in an all out war. My name is Ethan Fan and I have been educated upon the subject of child soldiers here at Bensalem High School. I have learned that instead of living happily, these forced child soldiers are to act as spies, assassins and carry heavy artillery to use in battle. Additionally, they act as suicide bombers, and cruelly enough, sex slaves. They are beaten and killed if they don't obey. How can we let this happen? These children are being ripped away from their families grasp into a brutal, unloving world.We say as if we care, but only some of us actually step in and does something. A child that has witnessed these events tend to feel guilt, hatred, anger, causing them to have the urge to return to violence. In addition child, soldiers suffer from PTS causing horrible nightmares and may also shy away from social interaction.
Former child soldiers put back into their normal lives and are unable to adapt with other people because they are unable to escape the barbaric ways they are taught. For instance, they have internal conflicts and seek for revenge overkilled family. These children are mentally damaged and need help to get back on their feet. they are rected by their own families and will never feel the love they once had. it is unfair for people to make decisions for the people they should not have control over.these kids will never grow up to be the same and their futures are
