Just like the libertarians they have an idea or principle on what the nature of freedom should mean. Their idea is based around social contract. According to the novel social contract is “a hypothetical agreement in an original position of equality”. The bases between this concept or idea is two principles, the first principle is providing equal basic liberties for all citizens. For example, the book mentioned freedom of speech and religion. The next principle that goes with the concept of social contract is concerns about social and economic equality. The way that I interoperated this principle was relating it to money. Although it is better for me then it was for them, it is still an issue that some women have to deal with. I feel that Rawls theory or idea on freedom is important because he finds equal opportunity for all an important issue. I think that sometimes people like to overlook that issue because for years it was sat on the back burner, and no one ever really brought it up. It has always been there but never brought up in a conversation. With Rawls theory this issue is being brought up and is a stepping stone for all individuals to have equal opportunity. There are many different examples that the idea of the importance of equal opportunity has a major positive effect. The example I shared is an example that I was able to relate the theory to my own life
