While improvements have been made around the world, there still exist an uneven distribution of care for some. While the United States is wealthy, she lags behind other wealthy countries and some poor countries in terms of life expectancy. The information given in the Learning Resources shares valuable learning for all of us who live in this country, about things that are killing us. I realize that the way to help others with illnesses and diseases is by sharing educational information about early screenings as a way of providing preventative care. Additionally, I learned that health indicators in our country are dismal, and we as a people must do our part to alleviate the burden and costs of staying healthy and fit. For example, being overweight is an area that we struggle with in this country. We must eat right and exercise, but also understand what we need to do to STOP going back to the doctor for health concerns that are controllable. The Learning Resource media was informative with life lessons that, if applied, could help save a life.
