Teachers should limit how much homework they give each night because students have sports practice or other activities and need family time. According to David Skinner, some students say “They see homework as “Pointless” or “mindless” in order to keep their grades.” (Skinner). Students say homework doesn’t help them and they only do it to keep their grades up. Susan Schwartz also says: “We have to make sure homework is not given just for the sake of homework.” (Schwartz). Sometimes teachers just give homework to students that isn’t helpful or for punishment. They should only give homework as needed. In an Article called “The Homework Wars”, an excerpt says: “A new study finds that a heavy homework load negatively impacts the lives of high school students in upper middle class communities, resulting in excess stress,physical problems, and no time for leisure.” (Luke).
