Waves crashing on the beach throwing you you about. Having trouble breathing you wonder is it possible for something to live here. Then you see a fish swim by. The only way they can survive in this ecosystem is if they have adaptations. An ecosystem is all the living and nonliving things in an environment. Neritic zone is like the goldilocks zone. The most ocean organisms live here because of the constant temperature, low pressure, and the sunlight. Also here there are some crazy fish. Like the lionfish. This zone can be cold or warm because it is located on every coast. Apparently, lionfish have no natural predators. Lionfish can live in this ecosystem because of incredible adaptations to catch prey and protect themselves from environmental threats.
Out of all the adaptations lionfish have …show more content…
To begin, one of the primary environmental threats is pollution. The text states, “Approximately 6.4 million tons of plastic and other debris enter the oceans each year”(Scholastic 1). This proves that pollution is an environmental threat because there is so much stuff going into the oceans that fish are struggling to survive. Equally important, modern fishing methods is a huge environmental threats. The document says, “The populations of almost all fish species that we eat have shrunken some drastically as a result of overfishing”(Scholastic 1). This proves that modern fishing methods are a major environmental threat because we are shrinking fish populations Additionally, climate change is a dangerous environmental threat. The article says, “Warming ocean waters, rising sea levels, and violent storms disrupt the lives of many species and affect fragile marine ecosystems”(Scholastic 2). This proves that global warming is an environmental threat because it is harming fish and their
