We know that the learners in Australia are located in remote areas with unstable Internet connection and where bandwidth is limited. The technology agreed upon that will be used for the delivery of the program must be a format that provides the learner with uninterrupted access.
For this program the corporate client would like to house both the knowledge training as well as the competency training in one platform so that the client, who has various locations allover Australia, can access the learner’s progress at any time. As Veletsianos describes, a personal learning environment (PLE) is a tool used by a learner so that they are able to establish their own learning processes. The PLE also acts as a representation to illustrate events and the environment of a modern online learner (2010, p. 179). The agreed upon platform allows the learner to progress at their own rate and organize their learning how it best fits the learner individually within the competency based platform. The competency based platform provides all the tools the leaner will need with respect to curriculum and training. It also offers contact with tutors at SAIT and many other online support tools within the customized toolbar.
