Nowadays social expectations for men are still the total contrary for women instead of the same. The man is expected to be the head of the family while the woman’s role is to support his decisions and tend to his needs. This “norm” has already been set by the generalized other and it continues its influencing cycle by specific others usually being the parents of the person, family members, and teachers.
