For participants to be eligible to take part in the study they had to meet some conditions; minimum age requirement of 18 years, have been enrolled in the school for a minimum of one semester, usage of marijuana at least 2 times per week, report of marijuana usage during the past week, tested positive for marijuana on a urine test and last owning a cell-phone with text-messaging option (Phillips et al., 2015). The study took place between March 2011 to November 2012 before smoking of marijuana was legalized for adults over 21 years of age in Colorado. Participants confidentiality was highly valued and all the contact information were discarded after the study was over and the data of the study was recorded with only the participant’s ID’s and were stored in a safe place.
