1. Describe and demonstrate knowledge of modern evolutionary synthesis, natural selection, population genetics, micro and macroevolution, and speciation.
I learned about the speciation of animals in Module 3 and in Module 4 I learned about modern evolutionary synthesis, natural selection, population genetics, and mirco and macroevolution. I was able to learn all this information due to the chapter 46 and chapter 47 notes, the online textbook, and the PowerPoint notes. This along with using reliable websites and articles is how I gathered my information on the concepts. I was able to learn more about these topics and implement the material in the discussion questions, and the module projects.

For the Module 2 discussion, I wrote about the purple pitcher plant with emphasis on its diet, function, and relatives. I created tweets of the six plant groups which included their names, if they are seed or seedless, adaptations, evolutionary history, and ecological significance. For the second project, I chose a seed and seedless plant and wrote a paper over them which included each plants tissue, life cycles, and adaptive advantages. In Module 3, I completed chapters 27, 28, and 29. I created tweets for all 22 groups of vertebrates and their subgroups. I also completed the discussion board on the health benefits of leeches and created a PowerPoint presentation over invertebrates.

I am able to describe basic animal physiology and homeostasis as maintained by organ systems because of Module 3. The projects for this module consisted of creating an invertebrate photo book which consisted of describing an invertebrate animal along with a classification, and picture. The second project included creating 22 tweets for the vertebrate groups and subgroups along with distinguishing and unique characteristics and examples. I was able to learn all of this information due to the chapter notes, online textbook, online reliable websites, and the helpful PowerPoint notes.

They also included links and videos to help me understand more about the labs and to gives the feel as if we were in the classroom. I loved the videos because I felt like I was participating in the lab and because of this I was able to recall more information and see how the instructor is able to collect data and analyze it and how I am able to do the same.

Modules 1, 2, 3, and 4 along with the 13 lab reports required that I use critical thinking to gather information from the material presented to me and from credible online resources. I had to make the informed decision in deciding if a source is reliable and if I am added the correct information to my notes, labs, and projects.
The PowerPoint presentations and the labs allowed me to improve my scientific problem-solving skills to make informed decisions in the laboratory. The presentations often had links to YouTube videos where I saw teachers and professors working in the laboratory discussing the external and internal anatomy of animals. There was also YouTube videos that went further in depth into a topic with pictures, animations, and explanations. This class had a wide variety of materials that were presented to us so we could learn in different
