However, Miguel and his wife are more than willing to talk about their experiences and shed some light on what immigration is like from their point of view. Miguel and Kristina both took completely different routes to come to America, Miguel took the harder and much more dangerous route while Kristina took a safer alternative to this. Miguel came to the U.S. with the help of smugglers which are named coyotes. These coyotes helped lead of pack of immigrants across the border fence and through the desert until finally they get forced into the back of a vehicle and driven to a small shed on the edge of Albuquerque where they are all kept and badly treated. Miguel had an idea though of where he was in Albuquerque and fled the coyotes, who turn dangerous when not compensated for their work, in order to not pay them since he did not have enough. He was able to escape and has been all over the U.S. in search of work until he finally settle down and found a stable job in Nebraska. Similarly, Kristina all found a stable job in Nebraska, however, she came into the U.S. by air. She and her sister got a ride by an airplane that a friend of their dads had. However, they both have used different methods since they have been caught and deported multiple times. In Mexico, a fraction of the people go to college or even graduate high school.
